A Message from the Foundation Board Chair – THOMAS BEIRNE III

I am deeply honored to serve as the new Board Chair of the Gateway Community College Foundation. I have been part of this phenomenal organization for seven years. Our Board of Directors represent the best of the Greater New Haven area. They are a cross-section of seasoned leaders in business, education, government, and health care. Their voluntary efforts, leadership skills, and dedication provide vibrant, productive connection between the college and its community.

The Board touches lives so meaningfully. I’m struck by the amazing, effective involvement of this truly ‘all-star’ team, and I’m grateful to every one of them for their continued support for the Gateway Community College family.

As we embark on 2023, we are mindful that Gateway students are still trying to navigate a post-COVID-19 normal. Many of our students continue to deal with overcoming adversity and obstacles that affect their educational journey. Yet, in spite of all of this, Gateway students continue to demonstrate resiliency, responsiveness, and perseverance as they continue toward degree completion.

In 2023, the Gateway Community College will become part of CT State Community College. My leadership of the Foundation will ensure the college's roots in the Greater New Haven community remain deep, strong and unwavering.

Also in 2023, the Foundation will celebrate its 30th anniversary of changing the lives of thousands of students in the region. I invite you to support Gateway students. The Foundation offers many different ways to make a charitable contribution. For more information, please go to our website: http://www.gatewayfdn.org/donate/.

Warm regards,

TB Sig
