LaKisha Jordan is the Director of Programs for the NewAlliance Foundation, where she oversees the foundation’s strategic grantmaking initiatives and special programs. In partnership with the Executive Director, she works to fulfill the foundation’s mission of supporting organizations that advance literacy, build communities, and dismantle systems that perpetuate poverty and racism.
With over 20 years of experience in financial services, LaKisha has held roles in business and commercial banking, regulatory compliance, strategic partnerships, and philanthropic portfolio management. She has been a driving force in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout her career. Her achievements include developing diversified hiring practices and intern recruitment strategies, expanding recruitment networks to attract diverse talent, delivering DEI training to leadership teams, and spearheading events and campaigns focused on civic engagement, social justice, and equity in the workplace and broader community.
LaKisha holds a Master of Business Administration and a Baccalaureate from Southern Connecticut State University. She has also earned a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certification from the University of South Florida, completed the McKinsey Management Program for High-Performing Managers, and is a graduate of the Links Incorporated Scott Hawkins Leadership Institute, Cohort XI. A dedicated community leader, LaKisha resides in Hamden with her family. She serves as the board chair for the Shubert Theatre and sits on the boards for Gateway Community College Foundation and the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame.
Additionally, she is a member of Southern Connecticut State University’s School of Business Executive Advisory Council and the President’s Community Advisory Board. LaKisha is also an active member of The Links, Incorporated, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
