About Gateway Community College Foundation
The Gateway Community College Foundation, Inc., incorporated in 1993, is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, whose sole purpose is to support Gateway Community College and its mission. Gifts to the Foundation, which are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law, help ensure Gateway Community College has the resources to remain a leading institution of higher education.
The Foundation is administered by a Board of Directors composed of community leaders representing Greater New Haven’s business, education, government and healthcare sectors. Their voluntary efforts, and the incredible commitment of businesses, organizations and individuals throughout the region, provide connections that change and build futures every day.
Contributions to the Gateway Foundation support the needs of the college, advancing its academic mission and vigorous attention to student success. It does this by funding student scholarships, faculty and staff development, instructional program development, technology and equipment. Beyond that, the Foundation works with the College to build, sustain and grow an impressive network of community support, promoting public awareness and understanding of Gateway as a significant regional resource.
The influence and impact of the Foundation’s commitment to Gateway are evident everywhere. Its close association with the College encourages and supports community-based internships in a broad range of careers. These experiences provide students with critically important hands-on skills and proficiency, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their workplace and the community. They also broaden students’ educational opportunity and offer career opportunities, while enabling employers to shape the character, skillset and enterprise of their future workforce.
“I’m grateful to the College for providing me with an outstanding education and a promising future. Like most 17-year-olds, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. All I knew is that it would require a college education. I got that and more. I got a helping hand in starting my career.”
