Ways to Give

The Gateway Foundation works closely with the College to identify and provide resources in areas to close the equity gap by creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline through connections to role models, mentors, internships for students, returning adults to college and inclusive leaders who teach them, work with them and hire them. The Foundation calls on funders and foundations to be responsive and creative in unprecedented ways and to be a change-maker in the traditional world of philanthropy.

Making a gift to Gateway Community College Foundation is just one way that you can have a positive impact on the lives of our students, faculty, staff and the community at large. It will help to create a brighter future for students, educate tomorrow’s workforce, build the region’s character, and help Greater New Haven build its competitive edge. You can make your gift online via our secure donation system.

Contributions that directly support students - through scholarships, planned giving and other opportunities - are indispensable, and often life-changing, immediately and long-term. Whatever your area of interest and level of support, giving to the GCC Foundation will make a difference in the lives our students and the futures of their families. Higher education is within reach because of donors determined to make an enduring difference.

Contributions can be directed toward one of many areas within the Gateway Foundation:

Educational Dreams Are Possible

Annual Fund

Annual Fund gifts touch every corner of the campus and impact the entire student population. Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund underwrite current needs that cannot be funded by state assistance, tuition or fees. They are renewable funds that enable the college to place resources where they are most needed or where opportunities are greatest. Our Gateway students are the fabric of the New Haven community, and gifts to the Annual Fund allow the Gateway Foundation to support deserving students in their educational pursuit.

Create a lasting legacy

Endowment

To endow means “to give or bequeath”. An endowment is a self-sustaining, perpetual source of funding to provide a permanent impact on our students and the College. An endowment enhances stability, prestige, credibility and reflects planned long-term stability, fiscal responsibility, and financial viability. It links past, current, and future generations. It also allows an institution to make commitments far into the future, knowing that resources to meet those commitments will continue to be available.

Scholarships

Scholarships are often the difference between moving ahead with higher education and the end of the dream of a college education for Gateway Community College students. A range of scholarship opportunities are available to respond to students' needs in academic disciplines that offer the essential classroom experience towards advancing career prospects.
