Empowering Students for Success: FESP Career Workshop on Public Speaking

At CT State Community College Gateway, student success is more than just an academic goal—it’s a commitment. Through the Family Economic Security Program (FESP), students receive essential support in academics, career development, financial planning, and personal growth. One of the many ways FESP fosters success is by hosting career workshops that equip students with critical skills for the workforce.
On February 26, 2025, students had the opportunity to enhance their public speaking skills in the workplace at a special FESP Career Workshop led by Earl McCoy, Jr., a DEI & Human Resources Coordinator/Officer at Yale University. Earl brings extensive experience in recruitment, career development, and human resources, offering students expert guidance on building confidence and communication skills for professional success.
This workshop is just one example of how FESP, with the support of the Gateway Community College Foundation, is ensuring students not only enroll in college but also persist through challenges and reach graduation day. By providing grant-funded support services, the program helps students navigate their educational journey with the resources they need to thrive.
