Gateway Community College Foundation Board News

The Gateway Community College Foundation Board convened for its 2025 Annual Meeting and holiday gathering in early December.
The members celebrated results, reconnected on shared values, and committed to growing the Foundation’s beneficial impact on CT State Community College Gateway and its students’ success.
The 28th Annual Hall of Fame was celebrated for its success, and the challenges recognized. Hall of Fame raised $98,000 for scholarships against a $100,000 goal. Board members expressed appreciation to the students, staff, and volunteers whose efforts made the event a lively and memorable.
Foundation leaders gratefully recognized several significant gifts received from Beverly Hodgson and John Leventhal and a generous unrestricted gift, from the Milikowsky Family Foundation. Hamden resident Marietta Mattei designated the Foundation as the beneficiary at her death and Anita Ellis named the Rita Lanaro Scholarship Fund a beneficiary in her will. The Wuestefeld Family committed to building its endowed scholarship.
The board thanked the 4Cs Union leadership for its $2,000 matching challenge to encourage faculty and staff giving before year’s end.
The board discussed ways to deepen relationships with supporters and cultivate future donors. They will explore “Board Nights” at Gateway’s student-run restaurant Cafe Vincenzo.
