Gateway Community College Foundation Names Committee to Plan

26th Annual Hall of Fame

New Haven, CT (March 10, 2023) Thomas Beirne, III, Gateway Community College Foundation Chair and VP Senior Wealth Planning Officer and Business Development Manager, Washington Trust Wealth Management announced members of the committee that will plan and lead GCC Foundation’s 26th Annual Hall of Fame dinner and awards.

Hall of Fame is the Foundation’s most ambitious annual event, and its largest fundraiser. The 26th Annual Hall of Fame will be November 3rd, 2023, on the New Haven campus of Gateway.

Hall of Fame Honorary Chair is Tameika G. Miller, Executive Vice President of Member Engagement and Communications at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. Co-chairs are: Rev. Hiram L. Brett, Spiritual Care Coordinator and Chaplain Connecticut Mental Health Center and LaKisha Jordan, Director of Programs, NewAlliance Foundation. They lead a committee of philanthropists that includes: Leonard H. Suzio, President Suzio Companies; Lindy Lee Gold, Senior Regional Manager, CT Department of Economic and Community Development and past GCC Foundation board chair; Ruby H. Melton, Community Leader; and Mr. Beirne.

“Hall of Fame is an iconic event. In 2023, we will build on its tradition of stellar honorees, moving student stories, good food, and serious fun — all to benefit Gateway students,” said Rev. Brett.

“I’m honored for the opportunity to serve as co-chair once again for Hall of Fame, Gateway’s largest fundraiser.  Hall of Fame is a celebration of a community coming together to support all our students through tuition and laptop scholarships. Many of our students face economic challenges that would keep them from attaining their educational goals without scholarships.  HOF also is a time to celebrate these students and honor our GCC community builders,” said Ms. Jordan.

Ms. Miller said, “I am looking forward to Hall of Fame again this year. I am so honored to have been invited to serve as Honorary Chair. We have a full evening planned with a live auction, delicious dinner, top-tier networking, and more! The best part of the evening will be hearing Gateway faculty and students share personal stories about what GCC means to them. I’m sure these stories will be forever imprinted on everyone’s hearts. Join us at Hall of Fame. You’ll see what I mean.”
