Honoring a Legacy: The Norman H. Wuestefeld Scholarship

The Gateway Community College Foundation is honored to offer the Norman H. Wuestefeld Scholarship, a tribute to a remarkable individual whose life and work left an enduring impact on our community and the field of transportation engineering.
A Lasting Legacy Through Education
In 2001, to celebrate Norman’s unwavering dedication to both his profession and his community an endowed scholarship was established in his name by Wilbur Smith Associates. This scholarship, initially made possible through the heartfelt contributions of Norman’s colleagues, ensures that his legacy of generosity, leadership, and commitment to education lives on.
Norman’s wife Paula and his children were inspired to continue that legacy with a gift of $30,000 in his memory.
Their deep desire to honor Norman’s memory and his professional achievements has resulted in a scholarship that supports students enrolled in Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or Technology Studies programs at CT State Community College Gateway, continuing the values that shaped his extraordinary engineering career.
