“Gateway welcomes every student, meets them where they are in their lives and academic journeys, and helps them achieve their degrees and career goals,” Heidi explained. “I’m excited to join Gateway and work with alumni and community partners to build a broad, powerful base of support for our students.”
“We look forward to Heidi’s leadership and service as we enhance and build support for Gateway’s academic programs and community engagements,” noted Gateway Chief Executive Officer Dr. William ‘Terry’ Brown. “Creative, visionary institutional advancement initiatives will help us meet the need of our students, who are always at the center of everything we do.”
Before joining Gateway, Heidi worked to raise support for the Universal Healthcare Foundation of Connecticut, Connecticut Community Foundation, Save the Sound, and Trinity College, and she was President of 1000 Friends of Connecticut

Institutional advancement is so much more than just fundraising,” according to Helene A. Augustine, Chair of the GCC Foundation. “It encompasses communications, marketing, public relations, and stakeholder relationship management. As our Foundation celebrates its 30th year supporting Gateway students, staff, and programming needs, we welcome Heidi’s expertise, leadership, and strategic vision.
