Shamrocks & Scholars: Gateway Joins the St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

CT State Community College Gateway brought color, creativity, and community spirit to this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, thanks to the incredible work of our talented art students and proud alumni.
As part of a special project, students from Gateway’s Art Program designed and built larger-than-life puppets that became a highlight of the parade, showcasing their craftsmanship and artistic vision to thousands of spectators.
The energy didn’t stop with the art—students and alumni marched together, representing Gateway with enthusiasm and school spirit. Behind the scenes, the Gateway Community College Foundation ensured they were fueled for the big day, providing food and support to keep the creativity flowing.
Events like these showcase the power of hands-on learning and community engagement, reinforcing Gateway’s role as a hub for innovation and collaboration. We’re proud to see our students and alumni making an impact beyond the classroom, bringing art to life in a way that celebrates both culture and education.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible, including our dedicated students, alumni, faculty, and supporters. We look forward to many more moments of creativity and connection in the community!
