Why a CT State Gateway Faculty Member Gives to Student Success
Natalie is a Guided Pathways Advisor and adjunct professor at CT State Gateway, where she supports students as they navigate their academic and career pathways. In her role, she sees firsthand the challenges students face especially when financial threaten to interrupt their progress.
That perspective is what shapes her commitment as a monthly donor.

Her Why
“As a Guided Pathways Advisor and Computer Science adjunct, I work closely with students as they pursue their academic and career goals. Along the way, I regularly see the financial and personal barriers that can disrupt their progress. Supporting CT State Gateway through monthly giving allows me to be part of the solution in a tangible way. Even a small contribution, when sustained over time, can make a meaningful impact on student success.
Giving back to Gateway students means extending my commitment beyond my formal role. It allows me to actively support the institution’s mission and remain connected to the broader purpose of helping students succeed both academically and professionally.
I hope my support contributes to improved student retention and completion, ultimately helping more students transition into meaningful, gainful employment. For me, success means seeing students persist, graduate, and thrive in their chosen fields.”
Community Connection
Natalie also stays closely connected to the Gateway community by attending events that celebrate student achievement. One of her favorites is Friendsgiving, where culinary students showcase their skills. “I still remember a Caesar dressing a student created—it was exceptional and a great example of the talent within our programs,” she shared.
Moments like these reinforce her pride in the college and the students it serves.
Looking ahead, Natalie hopes to continue supporting student-centered initiatives and remaining engaged with the campus community as it helps students reach their goals.
